Intro Fencing Class - Teens & Adults

Want to try fencing? Come join us! Your first class is always free!

    5-6 pm                  Monday

Please wear court/tennis shoes, long warm-up style pants, and a t-shirt. You can also come to any epee or saber beginning class time, and just let the instructor know you're trying fencing for the first time. We'll take it from there.

Intro Fencing Class - Youth

For kids ages 8-12 who want to try fencing for the first time, as always, our first class is free! You may come to any beginning class, Monday through Saturday (see schedule below), and let the instructor know your child is new. The coach will help you get things started.

Is your child younger than eight? Please give us a call and we can arrange to give your child an introduction to fencing, assess their readiness for an open class, and get them going on the right track to a safe and fun fencing experience.

Want something in particular? Let us know!

Elite Fencing Programs

The WFA Elite Fencing Program (EFP) is a program designed to provide high-quality, high-level, focused fencing training to develop highly motivated and committed competitive fencers to compete at local, regional, and national fencing tournaments. The program focus is conditioning, footwork, and fencing skills for competitive fencers (e.g., group instruction, paired drills, situational bouting, one-one-one instruction, and high-level open fencing). Private lessons are also available, reservations are required, and a WFA coach's approval/recommendation is required to joing the program.

Fencing is a sport great for making new friends, being part of a team, and building a lifelong activity for all ages.

Anyone for a Duel?

We offer a variety of fencing classes at the WFA main facility, located conveniently in downtown Issaquah (see Location). By taking a class of any type - beginner, intermediate, or advanced - you are a "WFA Fencer" (also see Fencer Benefits) and can enjoy multiple other activities and benefits, as well as being able to fence competitively under the WFA name and team. If you need equipment (most beginners do), there is an equipment rental fee; when you're ready, you can benefit from our club discount program to get your own gear and uniform with select equipment vendors.

Open Fencing

Open fencing takes place four evenings a week and on Saturday, and is included in all WFA memberships. If you have had at least a beginning fencing course, you're welcome to join us for any of these sessions:

    5-6 pm               Monday                                Kids Only!

    8-9 pm               Monday-Thursday             All Ages

Private Lessons & Coaching

Fencers who have had at least beginning and intermediate training often find private lessons valuable in helping them build their fencing skills and succeed competitively. Private lessons with specific coaches and instructors are available for WFA member fencers (see Private Lessons). "Strip coaching" at local, regional, and national tournaments is also available. Please inquire with one of our coaches or staff for more information.
