Beginner Youth

Ages 8-12

Tuesday 5:30-6:15pm - Ethan Miller
Thursday 4:30-5:15pm - Angie Bongaarts
Saturday 10-10:45am - Jianna Braza

Our beginner classes focus on teaching the basics of fencing: footwork, balance and form, blade position, and offensive and defensive actions for the individual weapon. Beginning classes are 45 minutes in length.

Don’t have your own equipment? Don’t worry! You can rent equipment through the WFA for an additional charge, just be sure to select a membership option including equipment rental when you register. We have a "rolling" enrollment, meaning you can join a class at any time. Feel free to call us ahead of time with any questions or contact our administrator

Join us for beginning fencing and discover your inner duelist. This is a great class to try fencing and see why it's so much fun.

Youth (Y10/Y12) Intermediate Classes

(Ages 8-12)

Monday 5:35-6:50 - Ethan Miller
Friday 5:35-6:50 pm: Angie Bongaarts

Once you’ve got the basics down and you’re looking to up your game or to get into competing, it might be time to start attending intermediate classes. Intermediate level classes introduce students to bouting, and focus on instruction in higher-level body mechanics, timing, distance, tactics and control. These classes also include more bouting than beginning classes. Intermediate classes are divided by age; students should plan to have their own training equipment, including electric equipment.

If you think you might be ready to take the next step, talk to your instructor.
