I’m not getting e-mail notices.

This can happen if you click the unsubscribe button at the bottom of one of your e-mails. To be added back to our e-mail list, email ifence@washingtonfencing.com and request that your email address is resubscribed.

We strongly encourage you to remain on the mailing list. You will receive your receipts, but also notifications of closures or schedule changes, upcoming tournaments, promotions, etc.

I can’t see the classes on the schedule.

You have most likely used all of the lessons on your lesson package, or you do not have the appropriate lesson package. Purchase a new group lesson package (beginner or intermediate level) and you should see the available classes on the schedule.

How do I purchase a lesson package?

For Mobile Connect—Log in using the button above. Click on the “sign up” link to the left. Select the appropriate lesson package and assign it to the correct individual.

For the Mobile App—Log in. Select the student’s profile. Select the option to “Purchase.” Select the appropriate Lesson package.

Do I need to reserve a spot for each class, or can I reserve for one day, if I plan to come only on that day in the future?

You no longer need to reserve a spot for each class session that you wish to attend. If you would like to schedule private lessons, these must be done at least 16 hours in advance.

I forgot to reserve a spot in today’s class and now it’s too late! What can I do?

No worries. Now that we are no longer limited in class size (a restriction during the COVID pandemic), you do not need to reserve a spot. Simply show up to class, and when the student is checked in, the system will remove one class from their lesson package.

I’ve cancelled a reservation, but I don’t see it returned to my lesson package

It can take 15-30 minutes for the cancellation to be recorded in the main system and transferred back to the Member Connect site or mobile application. If the class you cancelled came from a lesson package, check back in a few minutes and you should see it again provided you cancelled within the allowable time frame. If you paid for the class individually (as a drop-in), you will need to contact Angie.

I need to make an appointment for a private lesson, but don’t see how to do that on my phone

Private lesson appointments can only be made on the Member Connect Site at this time. Please log in using the above link.

I accidentally paid for a drop-in class when I should have charged it to the lesson package. Can I get a refund?

We can not refund the drop-in charge. In most cases, it is the same price or only $5 more than what the discounted price is with the lesson package. The cost in surcharges for the initial purchase and for the refund exceeds the $5 difference. If you charged a lesson as a drop in fee, it will not be removed from your lesson package, it is simply an additional lesson that has been purchased. Please make sure that you have the lesson package selected when you reserve a class or make an appointment. If you do not see a lesson package as an option, you have used up all of the lessons in your latest package and will need to buy another one. You should do that before reserving a spot.

How do I update my Credit Card info?

For Member Connect Site: Log in using the button above. Select “Pay My bills”. Then either click on the card to be updated or Add Another Account to put in a new card.

Classes and Lessons

How long will I be in the beginner class?

This all depends on the student. Students need to show a basic understanding of safety as well as be able to preform the basics to a given degree. For some students, this process goes more quickly, for others more slowly. In general, the younger the student, the longer they will spend at the beginner level. For teens and adults, most students are ready to move up when they have attended around 40 classes. Click HERE for info on what is needed to move up to intermediate level classes.

I can not attend the scheduled classes. Can I take classes at the next level?

You are welcome to attend classes at your level or lower, but you can not jump ahead to more advanced classes. If the current class schedule does not work for you, consider talking to the instructors about accessing private lessons, or about determining when your student will be ready to progress to the next level.

I’ve moved from the beginner classes to the intermediate level classes, but still have classes left on my beginner package. What can I do?

If you have just been promoted to the intermediate level, you can continue with a few beginner level classes if you like (some people choose to do this while waiting for their gear to arrive), or you can e-mail Angie and request that the remaining lessons be converted to intermediate level classes. A new intermediate level package will be generated, and you will be credited the cost of your remaining beginner level lessons.

When can I start competing?

At the intermediate level, you will begin to learn how to hook up, and how to bout. If you are interested in competing, please let your instructor know so they can guide you appropriately. In-class competitions begin at the intermediate level.
